The Dubai standards allow one ordinary resubmission and a further reconciliation resubmission when the provider and payer have agreed on the claim. The latter is a distinct step, not another routine correction.
It is the process in which the provider and payer review a disputed claim and agree the outcome. An agreed claim can then be submitted with the reconciliation resubmission type.
The published standard sets 45 calendar days for an adjudicated new claim and 30 calendar days after a claim resubmission. Emergency claims have different timelines.
A rejection can occur when a claim fails submission checks; a denial follows a payer review that refuses or reduces payment.
A payer may recover payment after reviewing a paid claim if the clinical record does not support what was billed.
